Silicon Photonics

Silicon Photonics is a photographic series of microscope images of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), each capturing the beauty of defected devices. Circuits like these are used today in telecommunications, spectrography, sensing, and other applications, but the finite and working product represent only a small fraction of the journey behind their development. The creation of such advanced technology demands countless hours, multiple steps fabrications process, and repetitive trial and error to find the subtle combination of parameters that allow the device to work as expected.
